Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), or tapping as it is also known, has been developed by Gary Craig in the 1990’s and promoted through the release of his book ‘the EFT Handbook’. Since then, thousands have studied EFT as a therapy and practice with outstanding positive results in resolving physical, mental and emotional challenges.
The practice is used with therapists but is also easy to self-administer. Training in the therapy is always recommended to obtain the best results.
EFT works through a practitioner or person tapping on particular meridian points on the body, also called acupressure points. These points are derived from acupuncture practices. By tapping on the specific points, energy blockages are released. As the energy releases, the negative emotion associated with the blockage is also released.
We use wording which describes our challenge when practicing EFT. The use of this wording lets our bio system know what we are working on. We feel negative emotions when we are tuned into negative thoughts or circumstances. These negative emotions cause a disruption in our energy system. We rate the intensity of the emotion that we are feeling. We tap on the wording and emotion and we witness the intensity subside and disappear.
Course Structure
I have always had an interest in complementary holistic therapies as either a standalone option or to complement other interventions with the ultimate aim to promote optimal wellbeing and self-healing. Having had personal experience of seeing how the body can heal itself given the right environment, I realised that the right environment has to be created and focused on within body, mind, emotions and spirit. To this end, I trained in different therapies and personal development options that could support the creation of the best possible environment to have the optimal balance, health and well-being in life. My passion in life, is sharing these practices with others to support them, so that balance, harmony and pure joy can be available as a solid foundation for everyday life.
Key Learning Outcomes
Participants are guided in the application of EFT. This is an easy to learn practice and is highly effective in dealing with the anxiety that can be a product of having too much stress in our systems. EFT works well with both adults and children. Participants will be guided in using EFT for self-care and with others (adults and children). All tools can be adapted to use with children. EFT is all about meeting the person where they are at in a given point in time. This translates perfectly when using the tools with children as the application of the tools become as individual as each child is.
